OTP bank, Chairman of the Management Board
Balázs Pál Békeffy has served as President of the Management Board of the fourth- largest bank in Croatia, leading OTP banka d.d. for the past 15 years. In this role, he is directly responsible for overseeing the management of central functions, including human resources and corporate affairs, encompassing corporate communications; internal audit; legal affairs; information and banking security; compliance; as well as restructuring and collections. He also leads or participates in the work of various
Management Board committees. In his capacity as President of the Management Board of OTP banka d.d., he served as the executive lead of the largest integration to date in the Croatian banking market—the integration of OTP Bank and Splitska banka. He was responsible for the successful legal, regulatory, financial, market, operational, IT, and communication execution of theintegration, overseeing the work of 18 integration teams. The integration was successfully completed within a record timeframe of 19 months.
The integration process involved teams of more than 600 experts and included simultaneous legal and technological migration, as well as a rebranding process. It was assessed as successful by regulators, shareholders, clients, employees, and other key stakeholders.
Since then, OTP banka d.d. has consistently achieved its business objectives, supported by a workforce of 2,500 employees, continuous growth in market share, ongoing digital transformation, and strong recognition in the Croatian financial market, as confirmed by numerous awards and accolades.
Previously, he led the merger of Banco Popolare Croatia d.d. with OTP banka d.d., which was also completed within an impressive timeframe of ten months and finalized in December 2014.
