Tamara Perko

Croatian Banking Association, Director

Tamara Perko is a banking professional with over 23 years of diverse experience, including more than 16 years in leadership positions, and a track record of managing some of Croatia’s largest and most complex transactions. Starting her career in 2001 at Zagrebačka banka (UniCredit Group), Tamara progressed through various expert and managerial roles across the bank. In 2017, she joined the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR) as President of the Management Board, where she oversaw major divisions and led the institution’s strategic and operational activities. Her tenure at HBOR was marked by significant achievements such as developing first HBOR strategy, developing Croatia’s venture and private equity market with European Investment Fund support and launching financial instruments in Croatian market.

Tamara’s influence extended internationally through her roles in various organizations, including the Three Seas Investment Fund, European Association of Public Banks, and China-CEEC Inter-Bank Association. Domestically, she engaged actively with the Croatian Exporters Association and Croatian Credit Insurance. Today, she acts as Director of Croatian Banking Association and is Executive Board member of European Bank Federation and OECD Finance Committee.

Tamara is also involved in several volunteer and mentoring roles, including the GLOBSEC Danube Tech Valley Initiative.

She graduated with honours in Economics and Business from the University of Zagreb, holding an MSc in Accounting, Auditing, and Finance. Her commitment to professional development is evident from her participation in programs by SDA Bocconi, Euromoney, and others, and she is a scholarship recipient from Stanford University’s Stern Leadership Academy. Tamara is an Investment Advisor and a Green Building Professional. Her contributions to banking and international cooperation have earned her multiple awards and recognition.
